Hunt for Water Buffalo in Central Arnhem Land in the Northern Territory

Australian Hunting Consultants is proud to offer this Premium Asiatic Buffalo hunting adventure. It is without doubt of the highest quality hunts available in the Top End of Australia. We are now offering fully guided hunts within two and a half hours drive of Darwin on the vast floodplains bordering Kakadu National Park. This area is teaming with wildlife including huge saltwater crocodiles and literally thousands of waterbirds. We are able to offer hunts from March to December as the floodplain can be accessed during the wet season by airboat.

Our outfitter is one of the most experienced Australian and International hunters in the country and his success rate on trophy buffalo speaks volumes about his expertise. Attaining 100% success on trophy buffalo rifle hunts and equally high success rates for bow hunters. Add to this plenty of return clientele and you have a guide that knows his business and runs an operation of the highest quality.

Hunting is done by spot and stalk with the use of vehicles and the Airboat to access areas on the property. Once the trophy potential has been assessed a stalk is planned and depending on your choice of weapon (bow or rifle) will determine the shooting distance. This area has some exceptional wild boar trophies with long heavy tusks some of the largest you will find anywhere in Australia. 1 wild boar and 1 trophy buffalo are included in our 5 day hunting package.

There are 2 fully air-conditioned cabins available, one has 3 single beds and the other is a double, both have their own bathroom. The lodge consists of a large dinning and lounge area and an outside screened area to relax with a drink after a day in the field. The food is nothing short of exceptional with a full time master chef who specialises in the preparation of local game, fish and produce. All meals and beverages are supplied but please bring your own alcohol.

You can be picked up at Darwin International Airport or at your hotel in Darwin. Pick up and return to Darwin are included in the hunting package.

You will be hunting in the tropical north of Australia so light weight hunting clothing is advisable as well as the following items. Light weight comfortable hunting boots, binoculars, wide brim hat, sunscreen, torch (flashlight), daypack, camera or video camera and your personal items.

Your guide has a selection of quality firearms for your use, should you choose to bring your own firearm 3 months notice is required to apply for your import permit. There is also a limit of 40 rounds of ammo that can be bought into Australia

As stated you can hunt from March until December although the dry season is the traditional hunting time from May until August. Some great buffalo trophies are taken late in the season during the month of November.

Whilst all reasonable care will be taken during your stay, hunting is a potentially hazardous pursuit and your guide or his staff will not be held responsible for loss or injury that may occur.

We strongly advise all our hunters to arrange adequate insurance prior to leaving your home. All our hunters will be supplied with our Terms and Conditions and Indemnity Forms prior to the hunt commencement.
